Wildfire Environmental USA Inc. and WATERAX are now officially operating as one. The company will continue operating in the United States as WATERAX Corporation, with our head office located in Vancouver, WA.

Together, the companies will be working as one team, with one purpose – to help wildland firefighters move water with force, in the harshest of environments, protecting our forests and lives.

WATERAX has a long and exciting history which traces its roots back the Watson Jack & Co., founded in 1898, and later began manufacturing a powerful, 200 PSI portable fire pump named the Wajax Pump in the 1920’s. In 1964, WAJAX Ltd. acquired Pacific Marine’s fire division and changed its name to Pacific Pumpers Inc. This move solidified WAJAX Ltd.’s position as North America’s leading manufacturer of forest fire protection equipment. That year, the company also introduced the iconic MARK-3® pump, which rapidly became the standard wildland lightweight, portable fire pump used by forestry agencies around the world. In the early 1980’s Pacific Pumpers changed its name to Wajax-Pacific Fire Equipment Inc., until 1995 when the name Wildfire Fire Equipment was introduced.

Today, the WATERAX brand captures the powerful meaning and essence of the historical names Watson Jack & Co., Pacific Pumpers, WAJAX and Wildfire. WATERAX is truly going back to its roots by doing what its founders did exceptionally well and aligning ourselves with the original purpose of the company; to help wildland firefighters move water. This new brand identity better communicates the core nature of their manufacturing of trusted portable high pressure fire pumps and the supply of complimentary water handling products.

You’ll notice the new WATERAX branding soon on their mailings, packaging, invoices and promotional materials. This name change will have no effect on corporate structure, according to Raffaele Gerbasi, president of WATERAX Corp.

“That means you’ll receive the same on-time delivery, fast, responsive service and dedication to excellence you’ve come to rely on,” according to an announcement by Gerbasi. “All existing terms, discounts, contracts and pricing will be respected and honored.

“We will continue working hard to earn your business,” Gerbasi notes, “and we want to personally thank you for your loyalty and support.”
