The 3rd International Smoke Symposium Virtual Conference brought together researchers from the atmospheric sciences, the ecological sciences, health sciences, mathematicians, computer sciences, climatologists, social scientists, and others to discuss the complex issues of smoke and identify knowledge gaps and opportunities for innovation and development. "The Cohesive Strategy in 2020: Dynamic Adaptation in a Novel World" online event, presented by International Association of Wildland Fire in Partnership with Wildland Fire Leadership Council (WFLC) and its Western, Southeastern and Northeastern Regional Strategy Committees, will be held October 28, 2020 11:00-2:00 pm MDT.
Thank you to everyone who joined us on a trip around the world through the lens of wildland fire. Across four days in May 2021, IAWF presented real world risks and opportunities in an online environment. We connected a truly international audience, with global topics and speakers from most regions around the world, on different continents and time zones. The IAWF 16th Wildland Fire Safety Summit and the 6th Human Dimensions Conference addressed the issues that make the global wildland fire community safe, smart and supported. All presentations were recorded and are still available by registering.
The International Association of Wildland Fire is presenting this workshop in partnership with the Wildland Fire Leadership Council (WFLC) and the Western, Southeast and Northeast Regional Strategy Committees. The workshop will be held as a virtual workshop on October 4-7, 2021.
The IAWF Fire and Climate Conference is scheduled for May 23-27, 2022 in Pasadena, California and June 6-10, 2022 in Melbourne, Australia. We will focus our attention on one of the most important forces shaping wildfire and better prepare how we can focus and respond to this formidable challenge in the new decade.
