Alen Slijepcevic, Past President (2018-2019) Deputy Chief, Country Fire Authority, Australia After gaining a Master of Science (Forestry) Degree, Alen started his working career in Croatia as a forester from where he immigrated to New Zealand in 1995. Alen worked as a Fire Management Officer with the Forestry Corporation and as a Technical Assistant - Fire Research Group with the NZ Forest Research Institute. After three years, he moved to Tasmania where he worked with Forestry Tasmania for seven years in a variety of roles, the last two as the Manager of the Fire Management Branch. Since 2005, Alen have been working in Melbourne, Victoria. For the first seven years, he worked with Department of Sustainability and Environment, the majority of time as the Assistant Chief Officer Capability. In 2012, Alen started working with the Country Fire Authority as the Deputy Chief Officer Capability & Infrastructure. Currently Alen holds a position of the Deputy Chief Officer Bushfire. Alen is a self-motivated and highly organized senior executive with extensive expertise in leadership, emergency management, research, risk management and complex program management. He is an author of a numerous research papers, technical reports and conference papers. Alen has presented at the numerous national and international conferences.
