Phos-Chek long-term fire retardants, Class A foams, and water-enhancing gel are the world's leading chemical solutions for managing wildland, industrial and municipal fires. In 1962, the Phos-Chek name was born and an era of innovation and partnership began. Formally part of the Monsanto Group, Phos-Chek has worked side-by-side with fire management agencies in North America and across the world to provide safe and effective fire fighting chemicals to meet the needs and desires of fire management personnel.
Phos-Chek long-term retardants are the safest, most effective, and environmentally friendly retardants available. No other products meet the current USDA Forest Service specification for long-term retardant. This specification includes product qualification testing for combustion retarding effectiveness, environmental, safety and health and corrosion standards.
Phos-Chek Class A foam was introduced over 20 years ago and has been widely used by government agencies around the world who are responsible for municipal, wildland, and industrial fire management. Phos-Chek WD 881 and WD 881C Class A foam concentrates continue to be the product of choice based on unparalleled superior performance.
Phos-Chek AquaGel-K belongs to a group of Super Absorbent Polymer (SAP) chemical firefighting additive products best described as "water enhancers" that have unique properties which make them ideal to use in certain wildfire and municipal applications.
Phos-Chek AquaGel-K is a dry granular crystalline product which, when mixed with water, forms a gel-like mixture. Due to its ability to retain large quantities of water many times the size of each individual crystalline structure, AquaGel-K can be a valuable tool for the fire manager. Depending on the concentration and water quality, the result can be anything between a slightly thicker than water appearance to a coagulated mass. This makes AquaGel-K uniquely suited for both aerial and ground fire suppression applications.
