NOTE: The International Association of Wildland Fire has been made aware of the fact that the Hilton Seattle is involved in the negotiation of a new collective bargaining agreement with the union that represents some of their employees. Some workers have taken a boycott action and have requested that the IAWF not hold our event at the Hilton.
The IAWF Board of Directors has taken this all under consideration and has decided to go forward with the conference at the Hilton. We feel this is the best business decision for the IAWF. At this late date it would be difficult to find an appropriate conference facility that could accommodate our conference. We are too far along in our planning to change locations.
We have been assured by the Hilton Seattle and its employees that they continue to maintain their commitment to their guests and the high level of service we expect.

Lodging
Conference attendees will receive special rates for lodging throughout the duration of the conference plus three days pre and post conference.
- Rate - $137
- Rate does not include state and local taxes, fees and assessments, currently 15.6% and subject to change.
- Reservations - Online reservations will begin on September 1, 2011
The cut off date for room reservations is Tuesday, March 27, 2012. After March 27th the lodging rate of $137 will no longer be guaranteed.

Parking
There is a parking garage located under the Hilton Seattle. We have been extended a discounted daily rate of $16/day (regularly $32/day).
Transportation
The airport, Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA), is located 14 miles from the Hilton Seattle. We recommend that you use public transportation rather than rent a car as parking is expensive and sparse in downtown Seattle.

Driving directions from Interstate 5
Proceed on I-5 North toward Seattle, take the Seneca Street exit 165, on the left. Turn right on 6th Avenue and proceed one block North. Hilton Seattle is located at the corner of 6th Avenue and University Street.
